Temples and sites
The main tourist attraction in Cambodia is
certainly the Angkor temple complex but there are numerous other
worthwhile temple sites.
A minimum period of 3 days for a visit to the Angkor site is
essential to get a rough idea of the ensemble. To avoid
temple over-saturation, a longer period is most advisable. Alternate temple
visits with strolls through Siem Reap town
and with shopping. The best way to taste the charm of Angkor without
strain would be by limiting yourself to two or three temples a day
and spend at least a week on the discovery of this world heritage
site.

Certainly worth a visit in Preah
Vihear province:
From the Cambodian side, access is (not yet) possible in rainy season.
The road is in a terrible condition and full of potholes. The site can
however be visited from Thailand as it is situated close to the border. No
visa is necessary to cross the frontier.

Cambodian people often visit other religious and legendary sites, whose
history and legends offer a window on Khmer culture.
