Sasha graduated from Wimbledon school of Art in 1992 with a BA Hons in Sculpture. Since 2000 Sasha has been living and working on various projects in Cambodia, initially as the artist in residence for the World Monuments Fund and then as there design consultant. She then moved into the education of young Khmer artists. In 2001 she taught a six week printmaking course at the Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA) which culminated in a successful exhibition titled "Open Window", sponsored by the British Embassy. In October 2003 she co-founded the Peace Art Project Cambodia. Working with 23 art students from RUFA the project involved transforming weapons into sculptures as expressions of peace. From 11 August to 9 November, she presents in The Art House in Siem Reap a Mixed Media Exhibition by Graduates of The Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh. The current exhibition is sponcored by Bangkok Airways and spotlights paintings and sculptures by fifteen talented young Cambodian artists. Artists exhibiting at The Art House are: - Choup Sopheak,

While studying at RUFA these artists were selected to work with the Peace Art Project Cambodia (PAPC) which was co-founded and coordinated by British artist Sasha Constable. EU ASAC provided funding and support for some activities of PAPC. PAPC was a training project turning de-commissioned weapons destroyed during public weapons destructions into sculptures as expressions of peace. Cambodians call these weapons destructions "Flames of Peace" |
