Chinese Premier Meets His Majesty King, Samdech Chea Sim and Samdech Heng Samrin
Visiting Chinese Premier HE Wen Jiabao called on His majesty King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh on April 8.
The talks at the royal audience focused on the promotion of the bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
HE. Wen Jiabao expressed thanks to the royal family for contribution to the development of China-Cambodia relationship. He affirmed that Chinese government attached a great important to the relationship with Cambodia and cherished a special friendship with Cambodian royal family.
For his part, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni said the development of the relationship between China and Cambodia was a new milestone for the cooperation in all fields.
Meanwhile Chinese Premier HE Wen Jiabao on Saturday met with Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Heng Samrin and Senate President Samdech Chea Sim, vowing to reinforce relations between the two countries.
HE Wen said China was willing to work together with Cambodia to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two sides and to seek mutual development.
HE Wen pointed out that exchanges between the two countries#39; legislatures and parties constituted an important part of the bilateral relations.
The Chinese premier expressed his appreciation to the Cambodian National Assembly and Senate for their great efforts made to promote the development of the Sino-Cambodian ties.
China#39;s National People#39;s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People#39;s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) are willing to cooperate closely with the Cambodian National Assembly and Senate, Wen said.
HE Wen thanked the Cambodian legislative bodies for their firm support for China#39;s reunification as they have adhered to the one-China policy for years.
Samdech Heng Samrin and Chea Sim said that the two countries have maintained close and friendly relations, adding that the Cambodian people cherished the traditional friendship with China and appreciated the support and help provided by the Chinese side.
They said the Cambodian National Assembly and Senate would firmly support the development of relations with China and China#39;s great cause of national reunification, adding they were willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China#39;s NPC and CPPCC, so as to make more contributions to closer bilateral ties.
Earlier in the day, HE Wen laid a wreath at the monument of Cambodian independence. HE Wen returned to Beijing Saturday evening after official visits to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Cambodia from 1 to 8 April.--AKP
